ABOUT

Masivuyisane Training was established in 2018 to support young students with an interest in medical studies.

As a student myself in the late 1980’s I was unable to complete my B.Pharm studies at University of Witwatersrand due to the lack of funds. I found employment at a company who assisted me to continue with my studies at Technikon Witwatersrand and graduated as an Analytical Chemist with the assistance of my first employer. I aspired to work in the pharmaceutical industry. Eventually after some laboratory experience I was able to work at various South African pharmaceutical and medical manufacturers. Later I joined a sales team and as a medical sales representative I was exposed to working in hospital central sterilisation departments and operating theatres. After a few years I started my own business with a business partner. Together we have represented International medical device companies in Southern Africa for more than 20 years. We are passionate about medical education and we want to assist students achieve their dreams of becoming medical professional practitioners.

FAQ

Must the student be registered before he/she can apply for the grant?

Yes, the student has to be registered for study at a University. In order for us to be able to disburse funds to the students, they also have to apply for financial aid via the University portal.

Does Masivuyisane Training NPC pay the money to the student, or to the university?

The donor pays the funds through to the University, which is kept in their cost centre Thereafter, funds are then disbursed into student accounts. This is handled by the FinAid office.

At what stage is the student informed?

It is always safe to inform the students once funds are received by the University.
